8. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd <br />We a e making progress and Rev. Williams is very <br />sati fied -- emphasizing the matter of communication. <br />C. Business Relocation: Messrs. Miller and <br />Becker were in the HUD office today and President <br />Wilhelm read Mr. Miller's progress report. In <br />esse ce: Car Parts, Inc. has found a new loca- <br />tion in which to move and will move before Decem- <br />ber 31st. With one possible exception of the Joy <br />Bar, all business concerns in the post office site <br />have either completed moves or are in some pahse <br />of completing their moving plans. The Joy Bar <br />has not yet made a determination as to whether they <br />will relocate the first of the year or discontinue <br />oper tions. Cloud Brothers are temporarily moving <br />into the Pearless Press building while they con- <br />tinu their efforts to acquire a permanent location. <br />Three claims are before the Commission this morning, <br />for Parcel Nos. 4 -5, 28 -2 and 18 -5, totalling <br />$6,032.00. Four claims are in process awaiting <br />fina statements or documentation. <br />Eigh een business concerns have firm plans and,a <br />loca ion in which'to move. <br />Pres dent Wilhelm said these two men are doing a <br />good job. <br />d. Housing Clinic: Mr. Ashenfelter advised <br />Rev. Kirk has about ten applicants for instruction <br />and has the blessing of some of the City adminis- <br />tration. They are pleased Rev. Kirk is starting <br />this program. <br />Mrs. Guy P. Curtis raised the question of how to <br />get the people there and providing the incentive <br />for them to want to go.' A discussion followed. <br />Mrs. Curtis advised the Housing Authority has a <br />Social Services Department who is trying to ac- <br />celerate this program. She asked an informative <br />letter be sent for their next Commission meeting, <br />the ath Wednesday of the month, telling them of <br />this setup and ask them for cooperation in refer- <br />ring problem families. The referrals should be <br />to Rev. Kirk. President Wilhelm asked Mrs. <br />Curtis to bring this up in the Housing Authority <br />meeting, and suggested Rev.
