Mr. Hammerschmidt, Commission Legal SESSION Counsel, advised that the authorization of Resolution No. 309, at this meeting today, will initiate the steps for con emnation, letters for 10 -day notices of condemnati n will be mailed, and that everything can be finals ed by condemnation by the lst of October. We will be in position to take possession and will have title. lhe next step will be demolition. Mr. Helmen asked how much time is allowed for the demolition on the post office site? Mr. Ashenfelter asvised it will soon be started and likely take 12 to 14 weeks. Mr. Ashenfelt r exhibited a plan reflecting revisions by the State Highway Commission showing St. Joseph Street routinc to Michigan Street. Basically, it amounts to thE curves at either end being flattened. Another problem is St. Joseph Street, which is shown 56 feet in w th. There is some question whether this is wide enoug . Mr. Ashenfelter stated a meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday with the City Engineer and Clyde E. Williams & Associates for this review. 9.
