Williams is =in charge_ <br />of the P <br />C group and is rather pleased with the <br />results. <br />The large delay initially was the organi- <br />zation of <br />the PAC Committee. We should now move with <br />every possible <br />speed we can. Moving rapidly and us- <br />ing good <br />judgment is the direction we shbu_1d. go. <br />Motion was <br />made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. <br />Chenney to <br />contact the consultants to defer further <br />work in the <br />application stage and'' resume the rest <br />of their <br />contract in the planning stage. This was <br />stipulated <br />as part of their original contract. <br />Said motion <br />was unanimously carried. <br />b. Business <br />Relocation: Mr. Harrison. Miller <br />BUSINESS RELOCATION, <br />gave copies <br />of his Progress Report on Business.Relo- <br />CENTRAL DOWNTOWN URBAN <br />cation to <br />the Commissioners. He also stated 12 claims <br />RENEWAL PROJECT, R -66 <br />have been <br />paid to date for completed moves, at a cost <br />of $27,859.15. <br />A total of 26 business concerns com- <br />pleted their <br />moves. Three claims were paid today. - <br />We have 11 <br />unpaid claims with moves completed, which <br />will be s <br />bmitted at the next Commission meeting. <br />Over and <br />above the 26, 23 other business concerns <br />know whera <br />they are going and have firmed plans. For <br />all practical <br />purposes, 49 of our business-concerns <br />have sele <br />ted new locations. 203 business concerns <br />and non-profit <br />organizations are on our workload. <br />c. Weaver <br />DOWNTOWN NEGOTIATIONS, <br />reported—that <br />a total of 83 Option Agreements have <br />R -66 <br />been sign <br />2d to date, for a total purchase,price of <br />$3,091,621.00.- <br />The number of parcels to which Com- <br />mission has <br />title is 53, at a purchase cost paid by <br />the Commi <br />sion of $1,876,377.00. The Commission <br />also received <br />a roport on the status of acquisi -tions <br />in the Po <br />;t Office area as of August 5, 1970. <br />d.
