This provides for the making <br />of rehabilitation grant payments to or on behalf <br />of individuals and families for the purpose of <br />rehabilitating property within the project area <br />not to exceed $3,500 per family. <br />Mr. L. Glenn Barbe stated that HUD, in <br />Chicago, has suggested -an Amendatory Contract be <br />submitted to them for their approval for addi- <br />tional funds needed for _rehabilitation grants <br />and this money would be forthcoming within four <br />to six weeks. <br />President Wilhelm recommended we file the <br />amendatory application for additional grant funds. <br />He suggested on the`question_of the vacant lots <br />for the Commissioners -to -make a decision as to <br />the proper time'to- place the.properties on the <br />market, or whether to.wait fora better market <br />time. Some of the land has been.re- appraised as <br />low as U for bad soil.: He stated this is not <br />a bargain even though it may sound like one, as <br />it would cost approximately $2,000 for footings <br />to build. <br />On motion by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. <br />Chenney, Resolution No. 304 was unanimously ap- <br />proved. <br />h. investment in Project Ex enditures- Account INVESTMENT AUTHORIZED, <br />R -56: Authorization was requested for the invest- PROJECT EXPENDITURES <br />ment of $100,000.00 for three (3) months in the ACCOUNT R -56 <br />Project Expenditures Account Fund R -56. Mr. Barbe <br />stated these funds were for site improvements. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. <br />Chenney, the investment of the funds, as stated <br />above, was unanimously approved. <br />i. Relocation Workshop: President Wilhelm RELOCATION WORKSHOP, <br />stated that Rev. Kirk as ;personally been invited INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA <br />to attend the,Relocation Workshop; in Indianapolis, JULY 21 & 22, 1970 <br />July 21 and 22, 1970. He has been. requested to set <br />up a panel on rehabilitation and relocation. Presi- <br />dent Wilhelm said that when anyone-earns.-this type <br />of recognition, he felt the Commission should author- <br />ize the trip.
