COMMUNICATIONS <br />a.l Letter of Intent from The West Jefferson <br />Cor or tion: President Wilhelm read and presented <br />a Lett r addressed to the Commission from Jones, <br />Obench in, Johnson, Ford & Pankow, dated June 4, <br />1970, qritten on behalf of their client, The West <br />Jeffer on Corporation, owners of the Northeast <br />corner on Main and Jefferson Streets, South Bend. <br />They r spectfully request any action in regard to <br />acquiring this property, under Urban Redevelopment, <br />be def rred at this time to give The West Jefferson <br />Corporation time to work out their development <br />progra , as they are interested in developing said <br />cornerl on their own. <br />Mr. Eb 1 advised the City does not need this parcel <br />for tha garage, as the garage site will possibly <br />set within the center of the block and will not <br />occupy the entire site. Mr. Helmen said that will <br />be mon y we will not have to expend. <br />Mr. Wi gins raised the question if the owners have <br />been i formed of the possibility of a 40 -foot alley. <br />Mr. Eb 1 said the owners have been advised. <br />Presid nt Wilhelm recommended the above letter be <br />placed on the official record and filed. Said <br />motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. <br />Helmen and carried unanimously. <br />5.
