300 East Michigan Street <br /> Jeremiah Service House. <br /> 2 story Brick Italianate style house with a rough stone foundation and cut stone water table. <br /> Front porch across the north facade has 4 sets of paired octagonal columns between a spindle <br /> balustrade, supporting an open frieze of segmented arches and dentiI work. The frieze is also <br /> supported by brackets, at the top of the columns. <br /> Window sills and lentils are of cut stone. On the north facade, Ist- floor windows are floor- <br /> to-ceiling double hung and open onto the porch, above on the second floor they are 6/6 double hung <br /> The front door has beveled glass side lights, and a transom. A cut stone sill runs under the door <br /> and flanking windows. The recessed porch on the east side is supported by a single square column with a <br /> decorated-Capital supporting a flat frieze and balustrade, The portico on the west side has 2 square <br /> columns with corbelledcapitals, supporting a flat frieze and 2 engaged columns of the same style. <br /> The door has a transom above. The roof is flat with wide over hanging eaves that are supported by <br /> paired brackets under a simple cornice line. Brackets on the rear wing are smaller. A cupola adorns <br /> the top with an onion dome and brackets under the eaves that are paired at the corners and single <br /> in the middle. The body of the cupola has 3 round arched windows on each side that are framed by <br /> engaged columns with tondos above each arch. <br />
