PROGRESS REPORTS <br />a. Relocation and Rehabilitation: Mr. Bell- <br />inger apprised, in previous Commission meetings, <br />substantial progress has been reported with our <br />urban renewal work, and that the report of Octo- <br />ber 3rd is still valid and current. <br />b. Rent Supplement Program: Rev. Williams <br />asked for the requirements in prices for moving. <br />into 3reater South Bend Housing. Mr. Bellinger , ap- <br />prised the staff is in the process of putting to- <br />gether an informational letter raised at the last <br />Commission meeting. This will be ready for dis- <br />tribution sometime next week. <br />c. Neighborhood Development Program: Mr. <br />Belli ger apprised the Commission that HUD offi- <br />cials will be in our office on October 22, 1969, <br />and will discuss HUD's position for pursuing the <br />Ohio- easey Redevelopment Program. The staff has <br />advis d the consultant not to incur any further <br />costs until further notification. <br />d. Michiana - .Place (Cultural Center): Mrs. <br />Curtis asked the question if the Redevelopment <br />Commission approves the development plans pro- <br />posed for the Cultural Center? She was advised <br />that the Commission must review all new proposed <br />construction. However, the Commission is not <br />involved in the actual construction of buildings. <br />Development proposed for the Cultural Center will <br />be treated as if it was to be accomplished by a <br />private developer. The Redevelopment Commission <br />will be responsible for acquiring and clearing <br />the land and then selling the land for a Cultural <br />Center development.
