Code Enforcement Program: Department of CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />Redev lopment has prepared the draft application PROGRAM <br />jointly with the Area Plan Commission and the <br />Engin eying Department which-is for the near North- <br />east Eection of the City. This program, if ap- <br />provec ap- <br />prove by the City Council and the Federal Govern- <br />ment, will make available the rehabilitation of <br />their homes with low interest loans and grants. <br />The s aff has met with the City Council for the <br />purpo e of explaining the program. A meeting is <br />scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 1969, at <br />the Northeast Center for the purpose of exploring <br />and explaining the program to area residents. <br />Following a successful meeting, the application <br />will 4e presented for Council action. <br />LaSalle Park: Woodruff & Sons, Inc., LASALLE PARK URBAN <br />the d molition contractor, is currently working RENEWAL PROJECT, <br />in the LaSalle Park Project. Upon conclusion of R -57 <br />his work, all the remaining derelict structures <br />shoulc be removed. The City Street Department, <br />under the direction of the Engineering Depart- <br />ment, is resurfacing streets which were not <br />sched led for repair under the Urban Renewal <br />Program. These streets had been paved original- <br />ly under the Barrett Law and-were showing signs <br />of deterioration.. Mr. Bellinger apprised we <br />will he able to take non -cash credit for this <br />work which will help to reduce the City's share <br />of th project cost. <br />. Relocatees• <br />R -57: Relocated one individual into <br />rent supplement housing; one large family re- <br />located into leased Housing; one family will <br />move into private sales housing September 24; <br />three families are in the process of obtaining <br />235 H using. <br />R -56: One family moved into private <br />sales housing, and one family is in the process <br />of bu ing a home, under house replacement grant. <br />Rev.
