12S. <br />Fri day Mav 1st. 1909. <br />The Board met in reg lar session at 10 A. M. All menbers present. <br />Petition filed by the C. 1.. & S.= R. R: for the vacation of an alley running <br />from Poland street to their roundhouse. Referred to the Engineer. <br />Bond filed and approved and -Contract signed with Feser.& Robarge for The <br />St. Peter street Grade, Curb & Valk Improvement. <br />Engineer filed assessment rolls and final estimates for°Brick Pavement on' <br />DeMaude avenue from .JWoodward avenue to Portage avenue; Brick Pavement on California <br />street from Woodward avenue to DeIvlaude avenue, under Improvement Resolutions No. <br />439 & 440 respectfully. <br />Resolved, that notices as to the amounts -of assessments be published for six <br />consecutive days in the South Bdnd Daily Times, commencing on the 2nd day of May, <br />1999, stating that tics Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments. <br />at its office in the City Hall on the 19th day of May, 19092 at 7:15 P. . <br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and <br />approved and the final estimate thereonallowed. Notice of this resolution shall be <br />published on the 2nd day of May 1909, in the South Bend Daily Times, stating that this <br />Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City <br />Hall on the 19th day of May, 1909, at 7:15 P. Ill. <br />Remonstrance filed by Mr. Harris et. al. against the vacation of Angle street, <br />under Vacation Resolution No. 52. <br />Hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 52, for the vacation of Angle street was <br />deferred until May Sth, 1909, at 10 A. M. <br />Hearing given on Roll of awards and assessment of benefits in the Matter of <br />theopening of Meade street across the L. S. & M. S. R. R. under Condemnation Resolu- <br />tion No. 47. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators appeared acid no -remonstrances were filed. <br />The Board therefore find that the roll filed April l0t41909, showing awards of <br />damages and assessment of benefits, should be and the Fame is hereby in all things <br />ratifed,confirmed and approved. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 549 <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That <br />an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: <br />Trunk Sewer from the Kenwood avenue trunk sewer, beginning at Linden avenue and Meade <br />street; thence south on Meade street to Huron street; thence east on Huron street to <br />Olive street; thence south on Olive street toCalvert street. Said improvement shall <br />be known and designated as "THE MEADE, HURON & OLIVE STREET TRUNK SEWER IMPROVEMENT" <br />and shall bE constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the <br />City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published <br />on the 2nd day of May and on the 9th day of May, 1909, in the South Bend Daily <br />Times. This Board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City <br />Hall on the 19th day of May, 1909, at 7:15 P. M. <br />A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where <br />the prpperty owner signs waiver required, as according to law. Which said bonds shall <br />bear interest at the rate of six percent per annum, payable as provided by law. <br />Adopted this 1st day of May, 1905. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />
