Project, R-29, to extend these services to include the north
half of the Chapin and Western intersection. It was noted that
the approved rate of computation for the original fee was to be
determined by the engineers standard curve for cost based on the
site improve ent construction, however since this work will be
below the mi imum level for fee computation, the Commission ap-
proved the a gineer's recommendation for a fee of $3,000 for
engineering 3ervices in connection with the subject intersection
on motion by Rev. Kirk, seconded by Mr. Helmen.
e. In order to incorporate the Amendatory Application re-
quirements ii the current contracts for the Abstract and Title
Corp. of South Bend and the Abstract and Title Co. of St. Jo-
seph County, the Commission approved the execution of the two
addenda, not to exceed $17,000 each based upon the same unit
cost of the riginal contracts, in connection with the LaSalle
Park Project, R -57, on motion by Mr. Kompar, seconded by Mr.
Helmen.
f. Four rehabilitation grants for parcels identified as
1 -32, 33 -10, 45 -7 and 45 -18 in the LaSalle Park Project, R -57,
received Commission approval on motion by Mr. Helmen, seconded
by Rev. As m ntioned earlier in the meeting not all lots are to
be sprayed f r weed control in the LaSalle Park Project, R -57.
Last year may of the lots were seeded in accordance with the
Demolition C ntract No. 1 with Woodruff and Sons, Inc. Many of
these lots n w require cutting. The staff has discussed this
situation with appropriate LaSalle Center personnel to determine
if area yout s are available for this kind of work. The Com-
mission acce ted the staff's recommendation to hire a group of
young people to take care of the previously seeded lots, subject
to legal cou sel review of the liability insurance policy
for the prof ct area, with the rate of compensation to be nego-
tiated but n t to exceed the following: $1.25 per hour with a
team captain hired for $1.40 per hour and a supervisor for $1.75
per hour, on motion by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Kompar. An
appropriate contract will be executed with the LaSalle Park Cen-
ter which is la part of the Office of Equal Opportunity.
h.
