The staff is also making progress in submitting loans for federal approval which will carry interest at 39/6 per annum. The staff has listed about 80 properties in which needed improvements have been pointed out to the owner. Upon request by owners, the staff suggests reliable contractors, or if money is needed, the staff will give financial aid for those in the project area who are el aible. b. Re.ocation LaSalle, R -57. To date,.there are 3 families RELOCATION, who have moved from the project area into public housing. There LASALLE, R -57 are about 8 other families whose applications are being pro- cessed by the Housing Authority. The staff is striving to get more priva a housing for rental or sale. There are about 15 families w o state they are not willing to accept the purchase price offered for acquisition of their properties. Many of these families to be relocated may be eligible to receive the relocation adjustment payment of up to $500 per family or elderly individual. Certain requirements are necessary for eligibility, such -as (1) any individual over age 62, (2) any family who demonstrates that 20•% of his income is not enough for his family to meet rentals established on the Schedule of Average Annual Gross Rentals for Standard Housing in South Bend, Form H -614. It appears that 11 of the 15 families so far are eligible for the relocation adjustment payment. c. Meetings.
