Th <br />Commission unanimously gave approval for the follow- <br />APPROVAL FOR <br />ing four s <br />aff members, and any Commissioner, to attend the <br />ATTENDANCE AT <br />Annual IUW <br />meeting at- Culver, Indiana, June 24 -25, 1966; Mr. <br />CULVER IUW <br />Maxwell, M <br />. Scott, Mr. Barbe, and Mr. Chong. The motion was <br />MEETING <br />made by Mr. <br />Helmen and seconded by Mr. Kompar. <br />d. The <br />Commission recently approved borrowing $340,000 from <br />ADVERTISING FOR <br />the Federal. <br />Government to start work incour LaSalle Park Project, <br />BIDS FOR PI'IVATE_ <br />R -57, and the <br />check is forthcoming. Upon the motion of Mr. <br />FINANCING, R -S1,.'-' <br />Kompar, seconded <br />by Mr: Koezan, the Commission approved the <br />advertising <br />of bids for private financing for a long -term loan, <br />bids advertised <br />June 28, 1966, and bid date is July 12, 1966; in <br />the amount <br />of $1,248,000. <br />7. PROGRESS <br />REPORTS <br />a. Sample <br />Street Project, R -7. This project is expected to <br />SAMPLE STREC <br />be closed within <br />the next two to three months. By the end of <br />R -7 <br />June all the <br />land will be sold. <br />j <br />- b. Ch <br />in Street Project R -29. The sale of the land to the <br />CHAPIN STREZ' , i <br />Housing Au <br />hority is very imminent now. Everything seems to be <br />R -29 <br />all right <br />n dealing with the Park Department, and the sale of <br />that proje <br />t land is in the legal state with contract signing in <br />the near- f <br />ture. After several discussions with the Park Depart- <br />ment on the <br />location of easements in .the disposition parcel, all <br />questions seem <br />to be resolved. <br />c. LaSalle <br />Park Project R -57. Sometime in the next two to <br />LaSALLE PAIR, <br />four weeks, <br />the Redevelopment Department may start purchasing <br />R -57 <br />property. <br />A type-written list of home improvements-will be fur-, <br />nished hom <br />owners who are going to rehabilitate their homes. <br />Generally, <br />residents know whether or not their home is up for <br />acquisiton <br />although they have not formally been told. The <br />Redevelopm <br />nt Department is anxious to know of any LaSalle Park <br />resident who <br />is interested in purchasing a lot to build a home. <br />The Urban <br />Plan calls for single family dwellings, two - <br />family dwe �enewal <br />lings, and row housing for the elderly. <br />d.
