The Redevelopment Department has studied the <br />feasibility of installation of new accounting procedures <br />whereby appropriated city funds which were set aside <br />for urban renewal would be more.fully: utilized for that <br />purpose. The Commission approved the motion made by <br />Mr. Lo is, and seconded by Mr. Helmen, that Mr.. Glenn <br />Barbe be sent to Indianapolis on. Friday, June 3, 1966, <br />to review and discuss the proposed accounting system <br />with the State Board of Accounts. If concurrencd is <br />received from both the Common Council of South Bend <br />and the State Board of Accounts, the accounting system <br />will be initiated °as of July 1, 1966. <br />Mr. Wi gins asked for a report on the rent supplement <br />program. There has -been some money appropriated for <br />this p ogram, but applications are considered almost on <br />individual cases. The range should be between $65,000 <br />to $75,000, <br />and the completion date of the engineering <br />contract <br />services is estimated to be four years dated <br />from March, <br />1966, because of disposition tract surveys. <br />In the <br />the pu <br />discussion on the Sample Street Project, R -7, <br />chaser of the last parcel of land cannot be di-s- <br />SAMPLE STREET <br />PROJECT, R -7 <br />P10 <br />closed <br />until the closing date, June 1, 1966. The press <br />will be <br />informed at that time.
