The Commission acknowledged receipt of telegram DHUD WASHINGTON <br />from William Slayton, Department of Housing and Urban TELEGRAM APPROVAL <br />Development, (DHUD), Washington, D.C., dated March 7, LASALLE PARK <br />1966, informing us of capital grant funds approved for the R -57 <br />LaSalle Park Project, R -57. <br />c. Urban League letter dated March 16, 1966, enclosing URBAN LEAGUE SUB - <br />a list of negro contractors who are not members of the MISSION OF <br />Contractor's Association. The Redevelopment staff requested CONTRACTORS FOR <br />this list to use in the preparation of a list of available LASALLE PARK <br />contractors for the use by LaSalle Park residents. An ad RESIDENTS' USE, <br />will be placed in the South Bend Tribune to inform all R -57 <br />interested contractors who might wish to be added to this <br />list, after securing legal counsel review. Also, Mr. Wiggins <br />suggested that the-attorney consider some means of providing <br />the LaSall Park residents with contract terminology for pro- <br />tection ag inst possible unreliable contractors. <br />d.
