Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. <br />Petition for grade, curb and walk and sewer on Portage Avenue from Kinyon. to City <br />Limits, received, read and referred to the City Civil Engineer to be reported as to <br />the assessed value of abutting property. <br />Petition received and read for light at corner of Hastings Street and. Sixth Street <br />was referred to the Street Commissioners. <br />'✓ Mr. Hugh Anderson, Contractor appeared before the Board and asked for an extention <br />of time, t'oveomplete grade; curb and walk on Corby Street, Under Improvement <br />Resolution No. 141. Same was granted until May 15th. 1913s, and was approved by the <br />Board. <br />In the matter of hearing on Declaratory Resolution No. 221 for Grade, curb and walk <br />and Concrete Pavenue on Prairie Avenue from Webster Street to Grant Street. <br />. In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no remonstrances <br />was filed. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements <br />that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the <br />estimated cost of said improvement and the same are hereby in all things ratified, <br />co -firmed firmed and approved. <br />Resolved further that notices be published on the 23rdt 4ay of , <br />April 1913 and on the 30tho, day of April 1913 do the, South Bend Daily Dimes, stating <br />that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to <br />10: 00 A.M. on the 13th.gay of May 1913- The Board reserves the right to . re ject any <br />and all bids. <br />✓Contractors bond for One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars signed by Joseph Szweda as <br />prinicipal and W. R. Grzesk and Chas. V. Korpal as sureties, was approved by the <br />Board. <br />,/ Excavation bond for One Thousand ( 1,000.00)Dollars signed by Aslin Pl-umbing <br />Co. as prinicipal and John H. Mitchell and John F. Macht as sureties, was approved by <br />the Board. <br />ZBids were received and opened and read for the Street Lighting in River Park for <br />the ensuing five years and the same were referred to the City Attorney with duplicate <br />contracts for his inspection. <br />The Board approved of the replacing of four Central Union Telephone Company poles <br />on the south side of Kenyon Street, starting with the first pole at Portage Avenue <br />and Kenyon Street.West from Portage Avenue. Permission granted Ind. &.Mich. Elea. Co. <br />The Board approved of the setting of one 35t pole in the first alley south of <br />Indiana Avenue just east of Kendall Street, to the Indiana and Michigan Electtfc Co. <br />/ Contract band for the amount of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars signed by Joseph <br />E. Archambeault,of South Bend, Indiana as principal and the Title Guaranty & <br />Surety Company, as sureties, was approved by the Board for grading the 1st. alley <br />South of .Madison Street from Notre Dame Street to Francis Street also the grading of <br />the alley south from Madison Street to the aforesaid intersecting east and west <br />alley . <br />,/The contract for the Bovmsax Creek Trunk sewer, under Improvement Resolution No. <br />1Q1, was awarded to The Inter —State Construction Company. <br />
