<br />GRADING IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 193.
<br />RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of. South Bend, St.
<br />Joseph County, State of Indiana, That it is deemed necessary to improve Michigan
<br />AVENUE from the EAST LINE OF OLIVE STREET TO A POINT 14436 FEET WEST; measured &log
<br />along the center line of said Michigan Avenue; by grading the said :Michigan Avenue
<br />from property line!to property line to the establi .Tied grade line, in accordaneo
<br />with the profile details, drawings and specifications on file in the office of the
<br />Dep&rtment of the Board of the Boetrd of Public 7torks of said City; and such improve
<br />meat 1 R, Haw o? d.ered.
<br />The cost of said improvement, including the cost of. street and alley
<br />intersect? ons, shall be assessed upon the real estate abutting on said MICTaN IGA
<br />AVENUE' all aeorcing to the' ' method an' d mariner provided for in an Act of the General
<br />Assessmbly of the State of Indiana, entitled. "Are Act Concerning Municipal Corpor-
<br />ations," approved March 69 1905, and in aecordance with and pursuant to the pro-
<br />visions of all amendatory and supplemental acts thereto, passed by the General
<br />Assembly of the State of Indiana. Assessments, if deferred.) are to be paid in ten
<br />equal annual installments, with interest .at the rate of Six per cent per annum. A
<br />Bend or bonds shall be issued to the contPa,ctor in p yment of such work, unless the
<br />property owners pay said assessments befdre said bond or bonds are issued. Under
<br />no circumstances shall the city of South Bend, be, or be held responsible for any
<br />sum or sums, due from said property owner or owners for said work or for the col-
<br />lection of the game , or for the payment -of any -bond, bonds, certificate or 'certi
<br />fi.cates,issued to said. contractor iri J a` ment for such work, except for such moneys
<br />as shall have been actually received by the City from the assessmetat s for such im-
<br />provements, or such ;Honeys as said City is by said above entitled Act required to
<br />pay. All proceedings had, and work done in the making of said improvement, assess-
<br />ment of. property, collection of assessments and issuance of bonds therefor, shall
<br />be e:s provided for in said above entitled Act and amendments thereto.
<br />Notice of this resolution shall be publi shed on the 22rd day of
<br />June 1912 and on the 29t11. day of June 1912 ,in the South Bend Daily Times. This
<br />Board will give a hearing on this resolution 'in its office in the City Hall on the
<br />19th. day of July 1912 at 7:45 P.M.

<br />under Improvement Resolution N•.151. The same was approved by the Board and
<br />awarded to Hugh Anderson.
