particular parcels. However, it was explained to Mr. Place that the right <br />procedure would 'be to negotiate directly with Laymen Chapel. Mr. Chas. <br />Howell had also ',bid on these particular parcels, and stated he was in <br />agreement that this land should be given church preference over his bid, <br />which appeased to be for the same amount as the Laymen Chapel bid. <br />In answer to Chas. Howell's question, the Commission stated that the same <br />financial information could be incorporated into another bid proposal, for <br />a limited period, such as about 6 months. <br />Mr. Bat east suppositioned that if other large building contractors, such <br />as Mr. Place, would happen to control the bidding to such an extent that <br />no desi able lots would be awarded to the small builder, he asked just <br />how wou d the Commission consider this situation. Mr. Wiggins pointed <br />out tha. this did not happen here today, and the Commission as a -whole <br />confirm !d that this would never be the case. It was pointed out that <br />althouga Place and Company was successful on 21 properties, 16 of these <br />properties= received no other bids. Also Mr. Wiggins expressed the <br />Commission's fee''lings that there was no such thing as t1desirable and <br />undesirable" logs for sale by the Commission in the LaSalle Park Project, <br />R -57, bat in fact all of the lots are desirable. However, the site <br />improvements might be more advanced surrounding some of the lots at the <br />time .of the sale''. <br />After a lengthy discussion was held, the meeting adjourned at 11:45 A.
