After study by the Redevelop-
ment staff and the Area Plan Commission, it was found that
these p ans met all requirements necessary for redeveloping
project land and were approved on a motion made by Rev. The Redevelopment Department was notified by the
Chicago DHUD office that they would not approve adding 19
parcels to the previously approved Demolition Contract for
the R-57 Project. One bid
was received from the Reith Riley Construction Company which was
11% over the engineer's estimated cost. There were no bids for
the pede Irian overpass; it was felt that this was because of
the lack of cooperation from the steel industry to quote prices.
It was the consensus of opinion that there would be no useful
purpose of readvertising these improvements. Thus the submitted
bid was approved by the Commission on a motion by Rev. Kirk,
seconded by Mr. Helmen and will for forwarded to the Chicago
DHUD off ce for their review and approval.
-4-
SITE IMPROVEMENTS,
CHAPIN STREET, R -29
BID OPENING
