MEETING <br />person to <br />the <br />Indiana Urban Renewal Association (I.U; <br />R.A.) mEeting <br />in Indianapolis for January 19, 1968, <br />on motion <br />by Mr. Chenney, seconded by Rev. Kirk. <br />b. <br />Three <br />option agreements for parcels 13-15, <br />3 OPTION AGREE- <br />26-14, <br />9-4a, <br />all within the LaSalle Park Project, <br />MENTS . LASALLE <br />R-57, r1ceived <br />Commission approval-U'Oon motion by <br />PARK,- R-57 <br />Mr. Kom�ar, seconded by Mr. Chenney. <br />c. The Commission approved the following invest- <br />ment of funds in U. S. Treasury Bills upon motion <br />by Mr. Kompar, seconded by Rev. Kirk: $125,000 from <br />the Project Expenditures Account Fund R-29 for 3 <br />months; $50,000 from Project Temporary Loan R-29 for <br />5 months; and $ * 300,000 from Project Expenditures . <br />Account Fund R-57 for 3 months, and 5 months;, $350,000 <br />from District Capital Fund for 3 months. <br />- d. Resolution 208, superseding Resolution 198, <br />received Commission approval on motion by Rev. Kirk, <br />seconded by Mr. Kompar. This resolution establishes <br />disposition procedures in connection with the La- <br />Salle Park Project, R-57-, and requires that the sale <br />of land will be offered to the public instead of by <br />negotiation. <br />e. After receiving bids for the third consecu- <br />tive time for construction of the Chapin Street over- <br />pass, Project R-29, the staff and the engineer now <br />make a recommendation to the Commission to award the <br />Contract to Hickey Construction Company of South <br />Bend. ]Vo bids were opened on January 8, 1968, (1) <br />the Hickey Construction Company for Alternate A <br />(galvanized fencing) at $63,042.93, and Alternate B <br />(aluminum fencing) at $79,607.93: (2) the Howell <br />Construdlion Company of Elkhart for Alternate A at <br />$65,386, and Alternate B at $79,386. Therefore, on <br />motion iiy Mr. Kompar, seconded by Mr. Chenney, the <br />Commission awarded the Contract for Alternate A to <br />the Hickey Construction Company,.Ine., subject to <br />legal counsel opinion, and Chicago HUD approval, in <br />the amount of $63,042.93. *Mr. Grant Lewis questioned <br />the practicability of an overpass, and suggested an <br />underground tunnel; however this was investigated <br />thoroughly both for Lost and safety features and did <br />not reCEive engineer's recommendations.
