Further studies have determined adequate space can be made avail- <br />able without the acquisition of subject property. It is the <br />objective of the Urban Renewal Plan to retain good buildings where <br />it is feasibly possible; therefore a motion was made by Mr. <br />Kompar, secoaded by Mr. Helmen, that since Mr. Clark is willing <br />to rehabilitate and redesign the structures as needed, along with <br />the removal 3f any substandard structures,,the staff can assure <br />Mr. Clark by letter that the structures may remain subject to Sec- <br />tion D Item I of the Urban Renewal Plan which states, "Property <br />designated f acquisition, if not needed for a public use, will <br />be removed from that category if the owner(s) present within a <br />reasonable time, a specific plan or program of action to the City <br />of South Ben J Department of Redevelopment. The plan or program <br />as presented must show conclusively that the construction, demo- <br />lition, recoistruction or rehabilitation proposed is in confor- <br />mance with t objectives of this Urban Renewal Plan and such State <br />and local la s as may be applicable." Motion carried. <br />I c. Raitt Corp ltr of Jan 26, 1968 encloses a copy of construc- <br />tion contract for development of last remaining portion of Parcel <br />2(b), Sample Street Project, R-7, and expresses appreciation in <br />the Redevelopment Commission's patience with them. Parcel 2(b) <br />consists of the Hill White Truck Sales, Inc., and now the site <br />for the Natilonal Mills Supply Co. which is under construction. <br />she Sample S reet Project, Ind.
