The Commission, on motion made by Mr. Koczan, seconded by Mr. Helmen <br />and unanimously carried, took the proposed bids under advisement to <br />study an submit for concurrence to the Housing and Home Finance Agency. <br />V. RESOLUTION NO. 79 AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF BID FOR LAND IN THE <br />SAMPLE STREET REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br />Indiana riping Cloth Co. has submitted its Redeveloper's Statement for <br />Public Disclosure and Statement of Qualifications and Financial Res- <br />ponsibility to the Redevelopment Department, in an offer to buy land in <br />the Sample Street Industrial Area. On motion made by Donald A. Wiggins, <br />seconded by Fred J. Helmen and unanimously carried, the Commission <br />approved the offer to buy the land at the approved price of 23.7 per <br />sq. ft., subject to HHFA concurrence. Resolution No. 79 covering this <br />authorization is hereby attached and made a part of these minutes - <br />VI. CON RACT_FOR GENERAL NEIGHBORHOOD RENEWAL PLANNING IN THE LA SALLE <br />P IND. R -41 AREA <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Wiggins and unanimously <br />carried, the Commission agreed to forward the amended proposed contract <br />of City lanning Associates, Inc. to the Chicago Regional Office for <br />concurrence and authorized the execution of this contract upon approval <br />by the R gional Office. <br />VII. PRq�GRESS REPORT <br />Mr. Bruce C. Hammerschmidt, LPA Counsel read and explained LPA COUNSEL <br />the amendments to his contract for services rendered in CONTRACT <br />connection with the Sample Street Project. A motion was R--7 <br />made by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Koczan to approve the <br />amended Contract for Services. <br />Mr. Hammerschmidt also mentioned that a limitation of $9,500 <br />has been Iset for services rendered on the Sample St. Project. <br />A request, in the form of a letter, to Mr. Sucher from Mr. REQUEST <br />Bush of the Cummins Engine Co., purchaser of the Studebaker FROM <br />Foundry, was received requesting the Commission to undertake CUMMINS <br />a clearance project in a six -block area just south of the ENGINE CO. <br />Foundry. In a return letter, Mr. Sucher advised Mr. Bush <br />of the Commission's willingness to undertake the requested <br />clearance project providing the conditions stated in Mr. <br />Sucher's letter were met. <br />Mr. Koczan moved and Mr. Helmen seconded a motion to proceed SURVEY & <br />with the Survey & Planning Application to the Housing and PLANNING <br />Home Finance Agency in order to initiate the clearance program RE CUMMIN& <br />as rapidly as possible.
