general purposes include the <br />improvement and development of the <br />Ironworker Industry through education, <br />training, communication, cooperation, <br />and governmental- lobbying and <br />legislative initiatives. <br />CHECK -Off ASSIGNMENTS <br />Section XVI. The employer agrees to <br />deduct the working assessment in the <br />amount specified in the wage and fringe <br />benefit section of this Agreement <br />certified by the Union's Secretary - <br />Treasurer as uniformly required to be <br />paid by members of the Union from the <br />gross weekly wages of each Iron Worker <br />covered by this Agreement who has <br />authorized such deduction. The <br />employer hereby authorizes and appoints <br />THE CONSTRUCTION <br />ADVANCEMENT FOUNDATION OF <br />NORTHWEST INDIANA to act as its <br />agent to receive any and all payroll <br />deduction authorizations executed by its <br />Iron Worker employees. <br />The Employer agrees to deduct the <br />Local #395 IPAL assessment and/or the <br />Indiana State Ironworkers IPAL fund in <br />the amount specified in the wage and <br />fringe benefit section of this Agreement <br />per hour worked from each ironworker <br />who has executed an authorization form. <br />The Union will be solely responsible for <br />the authorization cards and compliance <br />with all federal, state and local statutes, <br />ordinances, regulations and other laws <br />pertaining to this matter. <br />In the event of the employer's failure <br />to make prompt and timely payment to <br />the Union as provided for hereinabove, <br />the employer shall be liable for all <br />penalties and liquidated damages as <br />provided herein, and the Union shall <br />have all the rights of trustee of the <br />various funds as provided for in said <br />Agreement. <br />31 32 <br />
