If hot rails cannot be cut or locked out, <br />adequate covering or protection shall be <br />provided. <br />On all welding operations a sufficient <br />number of employees will be used to <br />perform the work in a safe manner. All <br />welding safety items, i.e., leather jackets, <br />gloves, etc... shall be provided by the <br />contractor when welding overhead or air <br />arcing or using automatic machines. <br />On any job which requires a ladder, the <br />following conditions must be met: all <br />ladders shall be firmly secured at a <br />distance of eight (8) inches from the wall <br />and shall extend at least five (5) feet <br />above the top platform. Where ladders <br />over fifty (50) feet are required, there <br />shall be a platform at least every twenty- <br />five (5) feet for employees to rest. All <br />ladders shall have standard spaced rungs. <br />At all times OSHA Standards for <br />Ladders must be met. <br />When special safety items are required <br />59 <br />by a customer, those items shall be <br />supplied by the contractor. <br />When a Fire Watcher, Confined Space <br />Meter leader, CO or any type of safety <br />man is needed for ironworkers that <br />safety man shall be an ironworker. <br />While working over water, a power <br />equipped boat, including oars, and all <br />safety equipment will be provided as per <br />OSHA Standards. <br />Tools: (1) Employees shall furnish for <br />their own use all necessary hand tools to <br />enable them to effectively install such <br />work. Tools broken on the job shall be <br />replaced in like kind by the employer, <br />i.e. crescent wrench for crescent wrench <br />of the same brand. No employee shall <br />be held responsible for the loss of tools <br />or equipment in his charge. When tools <br />are to be checked in or out, it shall be <br />done during working hours. <br />WC <br />
