to check all limit switches, cable, lights, <br />dogs and controls when such equipment <br />is first used by the trade and as required <br />periodically thereafter, and to report any <br />deficiencies to the responsible authority. <br />When overhead cranes or crane runway <br />hot rails are locked out, said lock shall <br />be furnished by the employer. The key <br />to said lock shall be in the possession of <br />the Supervisor to the crew working on <br />the crane. <br />No load block on an overhead crane <br />shall be allowed to go past limit switch <br />point except under special operating <br />conditions and with a predetermined <br />procedure. <br />When working on crane runways under <br />operating conditions, rail stops, lights, <br />and flags should be placed between <br />workmen and operating crane. If <br />conditions do not permit such safety <br />precautions, a safety man or men will be <br />provided to protect workmen. Rail <br />57 <br />Stops shall be placed a minimum of <br />thirty feet (30') or one bay from the <br />working area. <br />Safety Requirements on Welding & <br />Burning: (H) If a Building Tradesperson <br />is being used to perform the QA/QC or <br />CWI inspection of work covered by this <br />Agreement, it will be performed by a <br />qualified member of Local 395. <br />Members of Local Union No. 395 will <br />not erect, walk on, or work on an <br />structural member which has any <br />projection above the flat surface of said <br />members such as: studs, shear <br />connectors, or any similar fixtures used <br />in composite construction. <br />All painted surfaces shall meet the <br />requirements of OSHA Standards for <br />Steel Erection. <br />Vertical reinforcing dowels, that are <br />exposed and constitute a hazard to an <br />employee that may be working above <br />same, shall be covered. <br />58 <br />
