APPRENTICE MANNING <br />Section XXV11. There shall be one (1) <br />apprentice employed for every four (4) <br />journeymen, as available. <br />There shall be one (1) apprentice <br />employed for every two (2) sheeter <br />journeyman, as available. <br />When during the apprentice <br />school year, there is not full, 100% <br />employment of apprentices and there are <br />three(3) or more apprentices on a <br />project(s) lasting one (1) week or longer, <br />a fourth alternate apprentice at -large will <br />be employed to cover school day <br />absences and maintain full employment. <br />It is the intention of the Union for the <br />contractor to get the same apprentices for <br />the duration of theproject(s), unless <br />there is a mutual agreement to employ a <br />new apprentice. <br />SAFETY PROVISIONS <br />Section XXVIII. <br />Planking Floors: (A) Working floors <br />upon which derricks set must be covered <br />tight with suitable planking over the <br />entire floor except where openings are <br />left for ladders. No more than two (2) <br />floors, or a maximum of twenty-five (25) <br />feet, beneath each riveting scaffold shall <br />remain open or uncovered, and all such <br />floors shall be planked and within a <br />minimum radius of ten (10) feet or per <br />OSHA standard. <br />Slings: (B) Steel cable will be used <br />instead of chains or hemp slings. <br />Safety Meetings: (C) There shall be a <br />periodic tool box, shanty or stand up <br />safety meeting among the supervision <br />and the employees. The reporting of any <br />hazardous or unsafe working conditions <br />shall not be the cause of dismissal. <br />53 54 <br />
