m
IV. PROGRESS REPORT - C ontinued
Interstate indicated that they were interested in either
terminating the contract with Redevelopment Department
now, o being given_a moratorium until most remaining
buildi gs are ready for demolition.
Mr. Baer informed Mr. Haddad that we would recommend a
moratorium if Interstate would waive any claim they
believe they may, have_ against the Commission for^ work
completed, and by reason of the fact that a number'of
buildings had not been_turned* over within the initial
twelve-month period, which is'the period the Interstate
Demolition Corporation claims all buildings were to be
turned over, which claim was "expressly denied by the City.
Mr. Haddad stated-that I Interstate's possible claim regard-
ing the twelve -month period was definitely not based on
the typographical errors in the contract documents.
Tentative agreement was reached that during the period
of the moratorium, if accepted, the Commission would turn
over vacated buildings to the Company but will specify
completion dates after the end of the moratorium period.
Interstate would also have to continue its insurance and
bonding coverage. Mr. Haddad will notify the LPA in
writing whether the Company accepts the arrangements for
a moratorium.
If co currence can be obtained from URA, the Commission
Will reducing the retainer of 10% of earned
payme jecommend
is during the moratorium to a lesser percentage.
Mr. Sucher stated that Mr. Baer is now satisfied that
the UFA will approve the Feasibility Survey contracts
as amended, provided we do not exceed our budget.
The C mmission was advised that within the next few
weeks another meeting of the Mayor's Citizens Committee
will e held.
On mot
unanin
the Tx
Commi:
ion made by Mr. Place, seconded by Mr. Koczan and
ously carried, the Commission approved continuing
avel Insurance for members of the Redevelopment
sion and staff.
-5-
FEASIBILITY
SURVEY
MAYOR'S
CITIZENS
COMMITTEE
MEETING
TRAVEL
INSURANCE
