V'" <br />GRESS REPORT <br />Mr. William Morris stated that in his opinion the <br />committee on Minority Housing was not functioning <br />properly. He asked that a new chairman be appointed <br />for this committee who is a member of the Board of <br />Trust es or Commissioners. Counsel for the Commission <br />was directed to check the extent of the Commissioners' <br />autho ity in the functioning of advisory committees. <br />MINORITY <br />HOUSING <br />PROBLEMS' <br />COMMITTEE <br />The C mmission, on motion made by Mr. Helmen, seconded ACQUISITION <br />by Mr. Williams and unanimously carried, approved the APPROVAL - <br />submittal to HHFA, Chicago of a revised Form H-.6144, PARCELS 2 -6 <br />covering parcels 2 -6 and 12 -44. & 12 -44 <br />Mr. S cher reported to the Commission that relative <br />to co demnation suits covering project Indiana R -7, <br />four arcela have had °.court appraisals where price was <br />an is ue. Total of our appraisals amounted to $32,015; <br />total of court appraisals. amounted to $30,500. Mr. Sucher <br />statel that they asked us to recheck with them to make <br />sure pverything is alright before council action is taken. <br />They also strongly advocated we think now in terms of COMMUNITY <br />doing a Community Renewal Program, which is a long -range RENEWAL <br />program for urban renewal similar to the 1958 -59 program PROGRAM <br />report, but in greater detail. <br />Mr. Dan Clark of The South Bend Downtown Council asked DOWNTOWN <br />if the Commission had any objection to their contacting COUNCIL <br />HHFA regarding the time schedule on the Downtown Feasi- <br />bility Study. The Commission approved and stated that <br />commu ity interest in this effort would be of great help. <br />IM <br />
