Perry, Minority Housing Committee, read a LaSalle <br />from the District Council of LaSalle Park, Park <br />sed to Mr. James Louis, President, Urban Re- <br />pment Commission, requesting the Commission <br />consi er the urgency of a rehabilitation project in <br />their area. <br />The Commission agreed to contact the HHFA Regional <br />Office regarding this area to determine how soon some- <br />thing can be done, in view of the fact that the neighbor- <br />hood is in favor of rehabilitation. <br />On motion <br />made by Mr. Place, seconded by Mr. Koczan, and <br />Second <br />unanimously <br />carried, it was agreed that a 1957 Studebaker <br />Car <br />Champion <br />be acquired from Freeman - Spicer on a 12 -month <br />lease <br />basis, at the rate of $72 a month. At the end of <br />that period <br />title to the car will be transferred to the <br />Redevelopment <br />Department. This was to be a second car <br />for use <br />in the Sample Street area, while the city car <br />will be <br />used in the Chapin Street area. <br />It was <br />suggested to the Commission by the HHFA Auditor <br />Contract <br />that the <br />cleaning lady be put on contract rather than <br />(Clean- <br />payroll, <br />as has been done up to the present time. <br />ing Lady) <br />Upon the <br />Auditors' recommendation, the Commission approv- <br />Revolving <br />ed the <br />setting up of a Revolving Fund to be supplied with <br />Fund <br />$2,500 <br />each from Project Expenditures Fund and the Urban <br />Renewa <br />Fund (total $5000). It is to be the responsibility <br />of the <br />accountant who is to be contracted on a day -a -month <br />basis <br />o prorate the expenditures from this fund. <br />On the suggestion of Mr. F. K. Baer, and approval of the <br />Commission, it was decided that the Redevelopment Depart- <br />ment contact Mr. E. Molnar, Auditor, St. Joseph County, <br />with the recommendation that the Auditor and Assessor <br />comply with State Statute Section 48 -8564, and allow a <br />tax credit on buildings which have been demolished in the <br />Sample Street Project area. <br />Sample <br />Street <br />Area <br />Tax <br />Credit <br />
