The <br />elec <br />the <br />mmission authorized the purchase of a used Royal Authoriza- <br />ic typewriter for $210.00. It is to be used at tion of <br />location Office. Typewriter —" <br />Mr. Sucher reported on a meeting with Mr. William NAACP <br />Morri , and members of the NAACP Committee. Discussion Committee <br />related to rental levels being charged in the Sample <br />Street Area. <br />Also discussed was the new Workable Program requirement Workable <br />of UR1, which includes that a subcommittee on minority Program <br />housing be appointed. This committee would work towards Requirements <br />provi ion of more adequate relocation housing and hous- <br />ing ir general for minority groups. It was suggested by <br />the C mmission that Mrs. Curtis appoint such a.subcommittee. <br />In Ma ch we are to submit to Chicago our proposed Land <br />restrictions and methods of disposing of land in the Disposition <br />area. It was decided to ask Mr. Hartwig to sit in on Committee <br />a meeting next week with the Land Disposition Committee. <br />A request for rent reduction on parcel 3 -5 from $55 to Rent <br />$25 was made and approved due to malfunctioning sink, Reduction <br />leaks, and cracked windows, rather than putting money Requests <br />into the unit to repair it. <br />Demolition contractors brought to Mr. Sucher's atten- <br />tion the fact that many cities make provisions for <br />rodent control. Contractors said neighbors complain <br />when they start demolition. Cost of rodent control <br />program would be $5 to $10 per building. Mr. Helmen <br />made a motion, seconded by Mr. Louis, and unanimously <br />carried, that wherever rodent control measures are <br />necessary, they be: provided. <br />On motion from Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Louis, and <br />unanim usly approved, permission was granted for the <br />Relocation Office to work the hours of 8:30 to 5:30, <br />changi g it from,-,the previous schedule of 9 to 5, and <br />that tae employees alternate working Saturday mornings. <br />This s hedule would be more convenient to owners in the <br />projec area.
