Resolution No. 9 Page 2 OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe South Bend Redevelo-Irnent Commission as follows: I. That the proposed Urban Renewal Area described above is an area of such scope that it is estimated that the urban renewal activities therein may have to be carried out in stages over a period of not more than 10 years. 2. at the undertaking by the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelop - ent of the preparation of a General Neighborhood Renewal Plan for the p oposed Urban Renewal Area described above is hereby approved. 3. That it is the intention of this body to undertake an urban renewal project promptly upon completion of the General Neighborhood Renewal Plan and the preparation of an urban renewal plan for such project, which project shall embrace at least 10 percent of the Urban Renewal Area and shallbe of the character contemplated by Section 110 (c) of said Title I. 4, That it is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed in the undertaking and carrying out of such urban renewal projects with Federal financial assistance under said Title I, including the requirements in said Title I ith respect to a feasible method of relocation and the provision of local g ants -in -aid. 5. That it is the intention of this body that the General Neighborhood Renewal Plan will be used to the fullest extent feasible as a guide for the provision of public improvements in such Area and that the Plan will be considered in formulating codes and other regulatory measures affecting property in e Area and in undertaking other local governmental activities pertaining t the development, redevelopment, rehabilitation, and conservation of t e Area. 6. 0 hat the filing of an application by the City of South Bend, Department E Redevelopment for an advance of funds from the United States in an mount not to exceed $8, 100 for the preparation of a General Neighbor - :)od Renewal Plan for the Urban Renewal Areas described above is here- : approved and that the President of the South Bend Redevelopment ommission is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file such ?placation with the Housing and Home Finance Administrator and to rovide such additional information and to furnish such documents as Lay be required by said Administrator and to act as the authorized apresentative of the City of South Bend,.
