(Resolution No. 4) <br />R 391 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMIS- <br />SION, GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPART- <br />MENT OF REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN <br />APPLICATION FOR LOAN AND GRANT FOR PROJECT NO. IND. R -7 <br />WHEREAS it is necessary and in the public interest that the City <br />of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment avail itself of the financial <br />assistance provided by Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, to <br />carry out the urban renewal project described as the Sample Street Pro- <br />ject rea and bounded generally by the New York Central Railroad and <br />Olive,r Property on the North, Scott Street and Prairie Avenue on the East, <br />Sample Street and Garst Street on the South and Wilson Brothers Property <br />and McPherson Street on the West, hereinafter referred to as the "Project "; <br />and <br />WHEREAS it is recognized that the Federal contract for such fi- <br />nancial assistance pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obligations <br />and responsibilities upon the Local Public Agency and will require among <br />other things: 11) the provision of local grants -in -aid; (2) a feasible me- <br />thod for the relocation of families displaced from the project area; and <br />(3) other local - ablations and responsibilities in connection with the <br />undertaking and carrying out of urban renewal projects: <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend Redeve- <br />lopment Commission, Governing Body of the City of South Bend, Depart- <br />ment of Redevelopment that an Application on behalf of the City of South <br />Bend, Department- of Redevelopment for a loan under Section 102 (a) of <br />said Title I in-the amount of $2,404, 709 and for a Project Capital Grant <br />and a Relocation Grant to the full amount available for undertaking and <br />financing the Project is hereby approved, and that the President is <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such Application <br />with the-Housing and Home Finance Agency, and to provide such addi- <br />tional information and to furnish such documents as may be required in <br />behalf of said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the <br />City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment. <br />OC ��1 'jam <br />'Sig ature <br />Fred J.
