This <br />plane <br />2/3 4 <br />- 3 - <br />ill involve their approval of setting aside $137, 000 for the survey and <br />ig of the project, and their approval of a grant reservation in which <br />the funds of the project cost will be set aside by the government. <br />Mr. S Cher pointed out that at the present time the government is not releas- <br />ing funds to the State of Indiana until a decision by the Indiana Supreme Court <br />on the Constitutionality of the Redevelopment Law is reached. <br />Howe�}er, the funds requested in the application will still be set aside for <br />future) use. <br />A motion resolving to submit the Survey & Planning Application was made by <br />Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Louis, and unanimously approved. The <br />necessary papers were signed and certified. <br />4. C MPREHENSIVE PLAN REQUIREMENT BEFORE RENEWAL PROJECT <br />APPR VAL <br />Mr. obert Huff, Plan Director, presented his case of why support should <br />be obt ined from the Redevelopment Commission for the hiring of an Assistant <br />r. <br />This is in relation to the Comprehensive Plan, which is considered a pre - <br />requi - to for any project approval. It is a general plan for the entire city. <br />�lie C mprehensive Plan includes land use, thoroughfares, community <br />facilit es plans, capital improvement programs and zoning and subdivision <br />ordin nces. This must be completed by the end of 1959. This work will <br />requi e the services of an Assistant Planner. <br />The s <br />regul, <br />the C4 <br />aff problem will be presented to the Common Council in August at their <br />r meeting. Clyde Williams volunteered to be present in representing <br />mmissioners, along with Mr. Baer and Mr. Sucher. <br />
