Williams, Sr. <br />Mr. Frank Koczan <br />Mr. James G. Louis <br />PROGRESS REPORT <br />A. It was reported by Mr. Sucher that the Sample Street Project <br />will be in the purchasing stage about July or August of 1960. <br />A re -use study has been made of the area showing favorable <br />industrial re -use possibilities. <br />A general discussion of the Sample Street Area followed: <br />B. A brief discussion of the Downtown Project and its possibili- <br />ties for success followed: <br />C. Mr. Sucher then reported on the Linden Project Area. Prob- <br />able re -use of the land would include low -cost housing projects. <br />It contains a total of 160 acres of which only part will have to <br />be cleared. Other homes in the area will be rehabilitated with <br />the cooperation of residents and City departments. <br />Linden School is planning an expansion of the present building <br />on the additional land that will be available through the clear- <br />ance program. <br />The total net cost of the Linden Project is $4, 237, 000 of which <br />approximately $2, 800, 000 will be paid out -of Federal funds, <br />leaving a balance of $1,400, 000 to be paid from City funds. <br />Mr Root moved that the meeting be adjourned.
