2- <br />OINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS <br />After a brief discussion, Mr. Root made a motion that the present five Com- <br />missioners be appointed for the forthcoming year (1959). Mrs. Curtis seconded <br />the motion, and all were in favor. <br />The five Commissioners who were reappointed for the 1959 term are as follows: <br />Mr. Frank Koczan <br />Mr. James Louis <br />Mr. Clyde Williams, Sr. <br />Mr. Fred Helmen <br />Mr. Virgil Place <br />3 - PR GRESS REPORT <br />Map prints were distributed by Mr. Sucher of the suggested plan of the proposed <br />Sample Street Redevelopment Area, which were self - explanatory. He then gave <br />a brief summary of the progress in this area, stating that 95010 of the residents <br />of the area were favorable to industrial redevelopment. Also, we have good <br />public upport, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Committee of 100, <br />South B tnd Tribune, etc. <br />Mr. Sucher also went on to explain we are now in the process of starting a con- <br />servation project, This would involve an area termed "Howard Park Neighbor- <br />hood. E' The Howard Park people have formed a neighborhood organization of <br />their ovpn for this purpose, and the Building Commissioner also said he would <br />work al ng with the Commission in this respect. <br />A general discussion period followed. <br />Meeting Adjourned at 4:00 p.m. <br />Mr. J <br />en, President <br />rs.
