This is EXHIBIT A, consisting of pages, referred to <br />in and part of the Agreement between Owner and <br />Engineer for Professional Services dated , <br />Engineer's Services <br />Article 1 of the Agreement is supplemented to include the following agreement of the parties. <br />Engineer shall provide Basic and Additional Services as set forth below. <br />PART 1— BASIC SERVICES <br />A 1.01 Study and Report Phase DELETED <br />A1.02 Preliminary Design Phase <br />A. Engineer shall: <br />1. Meet with Owner to review the goals and schedule for the project and visit the site. During <br />the site visit, Engineer will observe the line stop valve and make necessary measurments to <br />confirm the as -built drawings. <br />2. Develop concepts for: <br />a. Ways to stop the wastewater in the force main from flowing backwards to the <br />excavation when the pipe is cut for the repairs; <br />b. Pipe and/or valve repair alteratives; <br />c. Material, especially gasket materials, compatibility with the wastewater; <br />d. Potential ways to bypass the flow around the damaged valve during the repair; <br />e. Evaluate impact of construction on traffic <br />3. Develop concept costs for viable alternatives <br />4. Conduct initial Utility coordination to determine where other utilities are located near the <br />lift station and leaking valve. <br />5. Prepare a memo which discusses the alternatives identified, benefits and detriments, and <br />costs. <br />6. Meet with Owner, via conference call, to review memo. <br />7.
