Q.8 Will there be a list of possible Drug Testing Locations throughout the different states <br />where some of our divisions would be tested? May we have a copy of this list to use? <br />A. Yes, there is a list. The Safety & Health Department will provide information on where a <br />co-worker may go for treatment and/or testing. <br />Q.9 How long can a substance still be detectable? <br />A. Different drugs remain in the system for differing periods. For example: <br />Cocaine - approximately 1-4 days <br />Marijuana - approximately one month for a heavy user, two weeks if a recreational user. <br />These are approximate times and should not be used in making a decision to test. <br />Q.10 How do we test truck drivers? <br />A. If a person has an accident while out on the road, refer to Substance Abuse Policy for <br />Safety Sensitive Employees. <br />Q.I I If a person is hurt on the job site away from a home location, receives medical treatment <br />in some out-of-the-way place, has not been admitted to a hospital and is on his way back, <br />how do I get him tested? <br />A. Assuming the out-of-the-way place is not equipped for substance abuse testing, contact <br />Corporate Safety & Health and they can direct you to the nearest testing site. <br />Q.12 If a co-worker causes property or equipment damage, near miss, etc. at the start of the <br />shift, may I wait until the end of the shift to send him/ her for a drug test? <br />A. No, you should NOT wait until the end of the shift because if the individual is under the <br />influence of anything at the time of the accident, they may be clean by the end of the <br />shift. They should be sent immediately — policy states within 2 hours. <br />Q.13 What happens if I do not agree with my test results? May I take the test over? <br />A. You may have the same specimen retested either at another lab of your choice or have <br />the company designated lab retest it. You will need to pay High for the test prior to the <br />retest. If the initial test was incorrect, High will reimburse you. Re -tests must be <br />coordinated with the DER. <br />Q.14 May I have a copy of my drug test result? <br />A. Yes. Refer to Section 10.0. <br />Q.15 If I smell alcohol on a co -worker's breath, may I send him/ her in for a test? <br />A. NO. You may not send the co-worker in for smell alone. See section 4.2 "Reasonable <br />Suspicion".
