• Comply with legal, as well as local, state and federal authorities <br />• Protect the reputation of the Corporation and its co-workers within the <br />community, industry, and its customers <br />Provide counseling and/or rehabilitation assistance for co-workers when <br />appropriate. <br />POLICY: <br />1.0 High Substance Abuse Program <br />1.1 The use, abuse, possession, transfer, and/or presence in the body of any confirmed <br />detectable amount of, concealment of, reporting to work under the influence of, or <br />the transportation or offering for sale of the following items or substances is strictly <br />prohibited: <br />1.1.1 Illegal drugs, such as marijuana, heroin, crack, hashish, cocaine, Mexican <br />myth, etc.; controlled substances (including trace amounts); look -alike or <br />designer drugs, synthetic drugs; unauthorized drugs or illegally obtained <br />drugs. <br />1.1.2 Illegally obtained prescription drugs. Use of prescriptions in a name other <br />than that of the co-worker. Co-workers are encouraged to bring medicine <br />quantities limited to the dosage amount they will need to take during their <br />shift. <br />1.1.3 Reporting to work, operating a motor vehicle, machinery, or equipment <br />with a confirmed breath alcohol level at or above 0.02 ug/l. <br />1.1.4 Drug paraphernalia including, but not limited to: needles; syringes; <br />bowls; containers; spoons; objects used or intended for use during <br />ingesting, inhaling, or otherwise introducing legal or illegal substances <br />into the human body is strictly prohibited. These substances may include, <br />but are not limited to: marijuana, cocaine, hashish, hashish oil, model <br />glue, nitrous oxide, aerosols, or other substances identified under Section <br />1.1 of this policy. <br />PROCEDURE: <br />2.0 Pre -Employment Screenings <br />2.1 All prospective co-workers will be required to submit to a drug screen as part of the <br />post offer physical process. <br />2.2 No applicant will be screened without the individual's signed consent. Applicants <br />should undergo testing within 24 hours of being notified and before they begin <br />employment. Prospective co-workers applying for safety sensitive positions will <br />follow FMCSA rules in addition to any other High post offer testing processes. <br />2.2.1 Applicants who refuse screening, or who have a confirmed positive result, <br />will not be considered for employment and may re -apply and will be <br />considered for employment after one year. <br />Page 2 <br />Supersedes Policy Number/Dated: 01/01/06 Policy Number 2-662 <br />Approved by: Larry Brown Effective Date: 08/01/08 <br />
