INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
TO: Linda M. Martin, Clerk
Board of Public Works
FROM: Patrick Sherman
Department of Venues Parks & Arts
SUBJECT: O'Brien Fitness Center HVAC: 1088-2019
DATE: July 9th, 2019
roirvrwrumsmowuwmurorcwersrm wvwimw m,nroimnawsroumaaammmmmw+rrwurvaeroramrommmw urram vwumnasm.em uur urrmnmmmtivmum.oir wiwiromurrmamrmmaawnuvuwunarwuowwmoiN wmwmu aw
On June 25th, 2019 the Board of Public Works opened and read bids for the above project.
The bidders ranked as follows:
Bidder
Base Bid Amount
Alternate
Total
1. D.A. Dodd, LLC
$ 44,345.00
$ 8,669.00
$ 53,014.00
2. Dynamic Mechanical Services
$ 39,030.00
$ 4,265.00
$ 43,295.00
3. Ideal Consolidated, Inc.
$ 42,695.00
$ 4,665.00
$ 47,360.00
Venues Parks & Arts reviewed the quotes and found them to be responsive and responsible.
Venues Parks & Arts Facilities and Operations managers looked into the possibility of using an
even higher efficiency unit to create even more energy saving. They found that a higher
efficiency unit could not be done without putting the project over budget and there were
concerns that the larger units that would be needed may not fit in the space. VPA is confident,
however, that the unit specified will generate significant savings through lower energy and
maintenance costs.
Venues Parks & Arts recommends award of a contract for Base Bid and Alternate for a
total of $43.295.00 to the lowest responsive / responsible bidder, Dynamic Mechanical
Services.
The Department of Venues Parks & Arts has appropriated sufficient funds from
Facilities & Grounds Account: 201-1101-452.39-89.
Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
Patrick Sherman
