INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
TO: Linda M. Martin, Clerk
Board of Public Works
FROM: Patrick Sherman
Department of Venues Parks & Arts
SUBJECT: O'Brien Fitness Center HVAC: 1088-2019
DATE: August 13th, 2019
ur,mawmaoenumo rm,aeu.W.w wrum°mrxnmwrx nn nrwnxonmwrrrcra imp+mumi¢murrr✓iroinwswi¢rommremmmmurvom rmrrwnw.wuo aRu v... D.A. Dodd, LLC
$ 44,345.00
$ 8,669.00
$ 53,014.00
2. Dynamic Mechanical Services
$ 39,030.00
$ 4,265.00
$ 43,295.00
3. Ideal Consolidated, Inc.
$ 42,695.00
$ 4,665.00
$ 47,360.00
Venues Parks & Arts reviewed the quotes and found them to be responsive and responsible.
Venues Parks & Arts Facilities and Operations managers looked into the possibility of using an
even higher efficiency unit to create more energy saving. VPA worked with the sustainability
office to understand the life -cycle costs of more efficient units. It was found that higher efficiency
units would not provide sufficient savings to justify the higher costs. VPA is confident, however,
that the unit specified will generate significant savings through lower energy and maintenance
costs. VPA Maintenance will also get additional training with the control system to maximize the
energy efficiency of the systems as well as seek out rebates for the savings we are getting.
Venues Parks & Arts recommends award of a contract for Base Bid and Alternate for a
total of 4 290 to the lowest responsive / responsible bidder, Dynamic
Mechanical Services.
The Department of Venues Parks & Arts has appropriated sufficient funds from
Facilities & Grounds Account: 201-1101-452.39-89. Thank you and please let me
know if you have any questions.
Patrick Sherman
