MEADE ST. AND ECLIPSE PL. RUNNING NORTH OF <br />WESTMOOR ST. TO EAST/WEST ALLEY <br />Mr. Gilot indicated that Amiee Frantom, 2629 Westmoor Street, South Bend, IN 46628, has <br />submitted a request to vacate the above referenced alley. Mr. Gilot advised the Board is in <br />receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area Plan <br />Commission, Street Department, Fire Department, Community Investment, and Engineering who <br />all state the request meets the criteria of I.C. 36-7-3-13 Engineering recommended the petitioner <br />eliminate the alley approach by hiring a private contractor bonded with the City to tear out the <br />approach, replace with curb, and establish a tree lawn in accordance with the City Standards and <br />Specifications. It was noted re-establishing a curb and tree lawn would result in improved street <br />drainage, improved aesthetics of the streetscape within the neighborhood, and leave no doubt the <br />alley is vacated with the approach removed. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion <br />recommending approval of the request for vacation subject to Engineering's comments. Ms. <br />Dorau seconded the motion which carried. <br />UNFAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE THE FIRST <br />EAST/WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF WESTERN AVE. RUNNING EAST OF WARREN ST. <br />Mr. Gilot indicated that Danny Camarillo, 414 S. Warren St., South Bend, IN 46619, has <br />submitted a request to vacate the above referenced alley. Mr. Gilot advised the Board is in <br />receipt of unfavorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area Plan <br />Commission, Street Department, Fire Department, Community Investment, and Engineering who <br />all state the request does not meet the criteria of I.C. 36-7-3-13. All departments stated the <br />vacation would make access to the aggrieved person by means of public way difficult or <br />inconvenient. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion recommending denial of the request for <br />vacation. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion which carried. <br />DENY TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the following traffic <br />control device request was denied: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicapped Accessible Parking Space Sign <br />LOCATION: 815 Cottage Grove Avenue <br />REMARKS: All criteria has not been met <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the following traffic <br />control device requests were approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Stop Sign <br />LOCATION: Riverside Dr. at Lafayette Blvd. <br />REMARKS: All criteria has been met <br />NEW INSTALLATION: 2-Hour Parking <br />LOCATION: 105 N.
