REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 2019 204 1 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:37 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Board Members Elizabeth Maradik, Therese Dorau, Genevieve Miller, and Laura O'Sullivan present. Also present was Board Attorney Clara McDaniels. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the minutes of the Agenda Review Session, Regular Meeting and Claims Meeting of the Board held on July 3, July 9, and July 16, 2019, were approved. OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS — APPROVE CONTRACT.— 2019 CONTRACTOR PAVING —PROJECT NO. 119-062 (EDIT) This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referenced project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News, which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. 25200 State Road 23 South Bend, IN 46614 Bid was signed by: Joshua McCormick Contractor's Non -Collusion Affidavit, Non -Debarment Affidavit, Employment Eligibility Verification, Non -Discrimination Commitment for Contractors and Certification of Use of United States Steel Products or Foundry Products was Submitted Five percent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted .e Base Bid Total $461,269.00 Alternate No. 1 Total $137,363.00 Alternate No. 2 Total $123,836.00 Base Bid + All Alternates $722,468.00 WALSH & KELLY, INC. 24358 SR 23 South Bend, IN 46614 Bid was signed by: Dustin Hilary Contractor's Non -Collusion Affidavit, Non -Debarment Affidavit, Employment Eligibility Verification, Non -Discrimination Commitment for Contractors and Certification of Use of United States Steel Products or Foundry Products was Submitted Five percent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted U5. P Base Bid Total $507,867.30 Alternate No. 1 Total $135,074.60 Alternate No. 2 Total $106,743.84 Base Bid + All Alternates $749,685.74 Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the above bids were referred to Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Scott Kreeger, Engineering, recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $461,269 for the Base Bid only. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded and the contract approved as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried. OPENING OF BIDS — DREWRY'S BREWERY CLEANUP — PROJECT NO 119-031A (RWDA TIF, CONSOLIDATED BUDGET FUND) This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referenced project.
