REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 2019 204 <br />1 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:37 a.m. on Tuesday, July <br />23, 2019, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Board Members Elizabeth Maradik, Therese <br />Dorau, Genevieve Miller, and Laura O'Sullivan present. Also present was Board Attorney Clara <br />McDaniels. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the minutes of the <br />Agenda Review Session, Regular Meeting and Claims Meeting of the Board held on July 3, July <br />9, and July 16, 2019, were approved. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS — APPROVE CONTRACT.— 2019 CONTRACTOR <br />PAVING —PROJECT NO. 119-062 (EDIT) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referenced project. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News, which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. <br />25200 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, IN 46614 <br />Bid was signed by: Joshua McCormick <br />Contractor's Non -Collusion Affidavit, Non -Debarment Affidavit, Employment Eligibility <br />Verification, Non -Discrimination Commitment for Contractors and Certification of Use <br />of United States Steel Products or Foundry Products was Submitted <br />Five percent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />.e <br />Base Bid Total <br />$461,269.00 <br />Alternate No. 1 Total <br />$137,363.00 <br />Alternate No. 2 Total <br />$123,836.00 <br />Base Bid + All Alternates <br />$722,468.00 <br />WALSH & KELLY, INC. <br />24358 SR 23 <br />South Bend, IN 46614 <br />Bid was signed by: Dustin Hilary <br />Contractor's Non -Collusion Affidavit, Non -Debarment Affidavit, Employment Eligibility <br />Verification, Non -Discrimination Commitment for Contractors and Certification of Use <br />of United States Steel Products or Foundry Products was Submitted <br />Five percent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />U5. P <br />Base Bid Total <br />$507,867.30 <br />Alternate No. 1 Total <br />$135,074.60 <br />Alternate No. 2 Total <br />$106,743.84 <br />Base Bid + All Alternates <br />$749,685.74 <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the above bids were <br />referred to Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Scott <br />Kreeger, Engineering, recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive <br />and responsible bidder, Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $461,269 for the <br />Base Bid only. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and <br />the bid be awarded and the contract approved as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, <br />which carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS — DREWRY'S BREWERY CLEANUP — PROJECT NO 119-031A <br />(RWDA TIF, CONSOLIDATED BUDGET FUND) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referenced project. <br />The Clerk tendered proof of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune, which was found <br />to be sufficient.
