Williams, the negotiator's con <br />tract as, approved, subject to final legal ap- <br />proval and motion was .unanimously passed. <br />i Retirement Program: Due to insufficient RETIREMENT` PROGRAM <br />time io discuss the Retirement Program, Mr. Bruce <br />C. Hannerschmidt, Commission Legal Counsel, re <br />quested the Commission to select, by consent, one <br />of the insurance firms and obtain a final plan. <br />The in urance firms who have submitted proposals <br />are; <br />1) The Prudential Insurance Co. of America <br />2) Aetna Life & Casualty <br />3) 14ashington Hational.Life <br />4) Metropolitan Life 'Insurance Cm, <br />Rev. W lliams suggested two firms be selected to <br />obtain ft.na.l pension plans, in lieu. of one firm <br />suggested, and this met with unanimous approval by <br />all Coi mission ers: <br />Mr.tHe men and Rev. Williams stated, in their <br />expert nce working with insurance companies, the <br />contra utions remain identical; however., the <br />actual benefits the employee receives are not <br />identi al, but vary greatly.` Mr. Helmen stated <br />his on y concern is to get the best plan available <br />for th least amount of contribution. <br />A prop sal was made to select a Committee of two <br />Commis ioners to work with the staff and obtain <br />two fi al pension plans. The two Commissioners <br />nomina ed were Mr. Helmen and Rev. tilliams, as <br />Mr. H erschmidt felt these.two,Commissioners <br />are the most qualified and experienced in this <br />field. Mr. Helmen and Rev. Williams agreed to <br />.Serve in an advisory capacity for the pension <br />plan.,.fir. Helmen suggested Lincoln National <br />-Life Insurance be contacted for their proposal. <br />j.
