Of) 4 <br />Board met in adjourned. meeting from April the 16th.:1912. <br />All members present. <br />I/ emmitte from the Team Owners Union .appeared before the Board in regard to the scale of <br />wages for teams and teaming for the yeah 1912. The Board agreed to pay for all City teams <br />ing at the Union rate of wages, Five ( 5 00)Dollars per day. <br />Aeatiring given on the Olive. Street Pipe Sewer, Under Improvement Resolution ,No. 142., In <br />this matter all action was deferred until April the 26th. at 10:00 A.M. <br />Hearing :given on Niles Avenues Grade, Curb and Walk, Under Improvement Resolution No. 139 <br />Ir this matter all action was deferred until April the 26th. 1912. <br />'Hearing given on Grade on Fat. Alley Eaet of High Street from Milton Ave nut to Dayton <br />Street, Under Improvement Resolution No. 140. In this matter all action was deferred. un- <br />t i"1 Ap ri 1 the 26th. 1912. <br />-'He ari ng given on Grade, Curb and Walk on Corby Street from Notre Dame Avenue to Walsh St. <br />Under Improvement Resolution No. 141. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. Therefore <br />be it resolved that the Board find in each and even case in said improvements that the <br />benefits to the property, and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost <br />of said improvements. and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and ap- <br />p roved.. <br />Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 24th. <br />day of April and on the lst. day of May 1912 to the effect that this Board will receive <br />bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:_00 A.M. on the 14th. day of May <br />1912. The Board reserves the. right to reject any and all bids. <br />V Iearing given on Vacation Resolution No. 16 for the purpose of vas eating the following <br />der-cribed propert�.to-vdt:- Division Street from Eddy Street <br />In the above matter Mr. William Crabill attorney for the -Grand Trunk Railroad, appeared <br />but no remonstrances were= filed, the Board therefore sustain all former action taken, and <br />declare the above rat lid, coni rmed and approved.. <br />The City Engineer is instructed to 1peepare a roll showing awards of damages and assess- <br />ments of benefits to all parties and properties interested or affected. <br />This resolution was unanimously adopted by the Board. this 23rd. day of April,1912. <br />✓Hearing given on Condempation Resolution No. 15. for the purpose of appropriating .a strip <br />of land along the Grand Trunk & Western Railway, on East Division Street from South <br />Francis to South Eddyt' <br />In the above matter Mr. WILLIam Crabill,Atterney for the Grand Trunk Railroad, appeared <br />but no remonstrances were filed. Being fully advised in the matter, the Board takes fi k <br />final action on said resolutiorml confirming without modification, all former action taken <br />on the same. <br />The Board therefore declares the above property in all things condemned and appropriated <br />for Public use, the Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared or all the owners <br />or holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be <br />injuriously affected, which said list or roll shall also describe the property bene- <br />ficially affected. <br />�I respectfully report that I have tabulated the bids submitted March 1 h. for the <br />�. e9t <br />paving of Madis6n Street and find that C. H. De Frees is the lowest and best bidder <br />with Marion Block laid on a six inch gravel foundation. I therefore recommend that <br />he be awarded the contract. <br />Respectfully, <br />W. S.
