Office of Diversity and Inclusion Divisions of South Bend/SJC Human Rights Commission and Diversity and Inclusion 2018 Annual Report o Review and edit existing Public Works and VPA City department SOP's and policies for inclusion,and equity. o Support employee resource groups activities and events. o Continue to monitor recruitment, hires, promotions,transfers,separations by demographics and department. Strong, Inclusive Economy 0 Diversity and Inclusion o Implement accountability measures for Disparity Study recommendations. • Partner with Common Council to write, and pass Purchasing and Contracting Ordinance amendments. • Partner with Controller, Legal, Public Works, Purchasing to edit and update internal purchasing and contracting policy for legal compliance, inclusion and equity. • Connect small, local,emerging, MBE,WBE, MWBE,VBE, DVBE, DOBE, LGBTE, HUBzone, Section3E, 8a business enterprises to contracting and procurement opportunities City-wide including anchor institutions like universities, local school systems, local healthcare systems, grocery and fresh produce businesses etc. o Continue to identify granting opportunities that build capacity to deliver programs that empower everyone to thrive economically. o Define and customize Immigrant Career Pathways program in South Bend in partnership with local community organizations. o Continue to connect South Bend Housing Authority Section 3 workforce with local career opportunities and labor union apprenticeship programs. o Continue to support local small business resource centers in encouraging local entrepreneurship. o Continue tracking departmental and construction/contracting spend amounts for Annual Forecast Report to local small business community. o Share local MBE,WBE, MWBE,VBE, DVBE, DOBE,Section3E, HUBzone, LGBTE list by NAICS codes with local and regional community.
