RLANes and Regulations <br />any deposit: <br />(1) Shall be applied to the final bill or any outstanding <br />balance with any remaining surplus greater than <br />three dollars ($3.00) refunded by check to the <br />customer within ninety (90) days after payment of <br />the final bill; or <br />(2) Shall be transferred to the customer's new property <br />location if applicable; or <br />(3) Upon specific request from the property owner, the <br />deposit can be "held" at that property location for <br />the owner's future use. <br />b) Deposits may be used by the Utility to cover any unpaid <br />balance following disconnection of service; provided, <br />however, that any surplus be returned to the customer as <br />described above. <br />c) Any deposit to the Utility, or any sum the Utility is <br />required to refund for utility service, that has remained <br />unclaimed for one (1) year after the Utility has made <br />diligent efforts to locate the person who made such <br />deposit or the heirs of such person, shall be presumed <br />abandoned and treated in accordance with Indiana <br />Administrative Code (herein after referred to as IAC) 170 <br />IAC 6-1-15(g)(6). <br />E. Rental or Leased Units <br />Utility accounts may be established in the name of property owner or <br />in the name of the tenant. <br />1. Rental properties may have Utility services billed directly to the <br />tenant at the service location. The owner must provide <br />authorization that the tenant can establish services in their <br />name. Owners must provide their current mailing address. <br />However, the property owner will be notified anytime the <br />account goes delinquent. <br />
