Tuesday February 21st., 1922. Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. Mr. L. P. Hardy absent. Mr. John Reynolds appeared before the Board and presented petition for concrete pavement on E. Washington Avenue from Sunnyside Pavement to Jacob Street Board ordered resolution prepared on petition. Petition filed for light. on E. Washington Avenue and Jacob Street. Same referred to T. H. Beaning Pole and Wire Inspector for report. Charles Calvert Secretary of the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company appeared before the Board and filed the following -petition which the Board referred to the City Attorney- for---an--dpinion. February 21st., 1922. Board of Public Works, > South Bend, Indiana. Gentlemen= There is attached hereto Drawing #C•-14�19189 giving the details of a proposed °construction and installation ofa transformer vault for the service of the La Salle Hotel. It is intended that this vault will be placed under the sidewalk on Michigan Street, the man -hole cover being located next to the La, Salle Hotel Building, and on a level with this didewalk. Beaning thefollowing per mission was granted the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company as per request of February 14th., 1922. to set a line of poles on South Michigan Street from Ewing Avenue to City Limits to carry a 25000 volt, 3 phasd circuit. To the Board of Public Works Feb. 20,1922. I beg to recommend that Indiana & Michigan Elec. Light Co. place this line of poles in the alley west of Michigan Street from Ewing Avenue to Donikoyer Avenue thence east to MYchigan.Street thence south to City Limits, unless -a private right of way be granted in line with the alley west of Michigan Street. Recommended 20 day of Feb. 1922. > THOS. H. BEANING. > The above re,eo Pole and Wire Inspector. The above recommendation was approved by the Board and Clerk instructed to send permission to the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company. Attorney R Obenchain with a re resentative of the New Jersey Indiana_& Illinois Railroad Company appeared before the board representing the New Jersey, Indiana. & Illinois Railroad Compan and Dewitt Van Buskirk and presentedFolldwing petition r questin the vacation of a 14 oot alley between lots numbered five hundred and ninety 90) and five hundred.and eigghty one 581 ��nd its south abuts upon the north line of right of way of the Grand Trunk Westerb htailroad Company; and that the north end of said alley opens on east and west alley, and requested the Board to have this petition go through the usual reference for a vacation proceedings.
