<br />RESOLUTION OF SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, GOVERNING
<br />BODY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT,
<br />APPROVING UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR AN URBAN
<br />RENEWAL PROJECT AND FILING OF A REVISED APPLICATION, IND. EXP. PROD. R -56
<br />Eder Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended (herein referred
<br />e I "), the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development
<br />:ed to extend financial assistance to local public agencies in the
<br />i and prevention of the spread of their slums and urban blight through
<br />iq and undertaking of urban renewal projects; and
<br />WHEREAS Ti le VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the regulations of the
<br />Department of Housing and Urban Development effectuating that Title, provide that
<br />no person hail, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded
<br />from parti ipation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination
<br />in the and rtaking.and carrying out of urban renewal projects assisted under
<br />Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended; and
<br />WHEREAS it is desirable and in the public interest that the City of South Bend
<br />Department of Redevelopment make surveys and prepare plans, presently estimated to
<br />cost approximately Fifty Two Thousand One Hundred Fifty Seven Dollars ($52,157.00),
<br />in order to undertake and carry out an urban renewal project of the character
<br />contemplated by Section 110(c) of Title -I, in that area proposed as an Urban
<br />Renewal Ar a, situated in the City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, and State
<br />of Indiana which is described as follows:
<br />The I dustriai Expansion Project, Indiana R -56, is located in the
<br />City pf South Bend, County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, and is

<br />570 feet, more or less, to the north right -of -way line of the

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION,
<br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT:
<br />t the proposed Urban Renewal Area described above is blighted area
<br />ropriate for an urban renewal project, that the development of such
