AGENDA REVIEW SESSION F'EBRUARY 7 2019 27 noted they have at least eight (8) practice shoots at the range for training. Mr. Gilot asked if the firearms training simulator has reduced the amount of training ammunition. Mr. Lancaster stated it has not, that only simulates actual events, and is more situational whereas the range is dealing with accuracy. He noted you can't substitute one for the other. - Change Order — Century Center Convention Hall Mr. Roger Nawrot, Engineering, stated this increase is due to the decision to switch from tile flooring to carpeting. - Amendment to Agreement — Alliance Architects Mr. Nawrot stated this increase is due to a separate bid package for the Vietnam Veteran Memorial; AV low voltage in the building, and issues with the bond. He noted the entire project is LEED certified and that has an effect on the design. - Professional Services Agreement — Abonmarche Consultants Mr. Nawrot stated these back water valves will prevent the river from going back up the storm sewers. - Amendment to Contract — Christopher B. Burke Mr. Nawrot explained this additional cost is due to extra time needed when historical skulls were discovered during excavation. - New Installation — No Parking —Tow Away Zone Signs Mr. Nawrot stated these signs are for along Jefferson Middle School to School Field. Mr. Gilot asked if parents use that area for pick up and drop off of students now. Mr. Nawrot stated it's an informal situation. Ms. Dorau noted it's not a safe area to do that. Ms. Kara Boyles, Engineering, informed the Board that Engineering is doing a study on signage including ADA accessibility in all of the school zones. She stated they want to find out what exists today and what should be done. Mr. Gilot stated there was already a study done years' ago that would be helpful. - Amendment to Agreement — Lochmueller Group Ms. Boyles stated this increase is the result of upgrades needed after the preliminary studies. She noted there are some new access doors needed as a result of the building codes changing since the start of the study. She stated the original design was to see what the options were and the results are driving up the costs. No other business came before the Board.
