- 2 - <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioners did, on October 3, 1980, adopt Declaratory <br />Resolution No. 626 designating the East Bank Development Area, declaring the <br />East Bank Development Area to be blighted and approving a Development Plan; <br />WHEREAS, as required by law, the St. Joseph County Area Plan Commis- <br />sion and the South Bend Common Council have considered and approved said <br />Resolution No. 626 and the Development Plan, and, subsequently, the Commis- <br />sioners did, on December 5, 1980, and December 19, 1980, hold a public hearing <br />for the purpose of presenting said Resolution No. 626 and to hear and consider <br />remonstrances concerning said resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, said Redevelopment of Cities and Town Act of 1953, as amended, <br />requires that the Commissioners, after such hearing and consideration, shall <br />take final action determining the public utility and benefit of the project, <br />either confirming, modifying, or rescinding Resolution No. 626; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioners desire to confirm said Resolution No. 626 <br />without modification, except for changes in ownership as listed on pages 15 <br />through 20 of the Development Plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the City of <br />South Bend Department of Redevelopment that it will be of public utility and <br />benefit to proceed with the plan of redevelopment as set forth in Resolution <br />No. 626, passed by said Commissioners on October 3, 1980, referred to in the <br />WHEREAS clauses above, and that said Resolution No. 626 is hereby approved, <br />ratified, and confirmed. <br />Adopted at a meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held <br />on December 19, 1980, at the Office of the Commission, 1200 County -City Build- <br />ing, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. <br />ATTEST: <br />v <br />A Peter Donalds n, Secretary <br />ON <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />L <br />- <br />dent <br />Jay Nimt , Pres <br />e eevelopmen Commission <br />
