South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting—June 14, 2012
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
B. Airport Economic Development Area
(6) Resolution No. 3046 approving and
authorizing the execution of an
amendment to the Addendum to the
Master Agency Agreement with the Board
of Public Works (Energy Resource
Corridor Study in the Ignition Park and
Renaissance District areas).
Mr. Schalliol noted that the Revised Agenda
modifies the title of this item recognizing that
the item is actually an Addendum to the
Master Agency Agreement. Resolution
No. 3046 authorizes the Board of Public
Works to act as the Commission's agent to
contract for an Energy Resource Corridor
Study. A new staff report was passed out to
the Commissioners.
Mr. Schalliol noted that at the last meeting
there was discussion about the need to
address the energy needs of Ignition Park and
the Renaissance District together. Today we
are proposing to hire AS+GG/PositivEnergy
for the Energy Resource Corridor Study.
AS+GG/PositivEnergy is a Chicago-based
firm. The contract is still in draft form. Staff
is working to finalize the scope of the larger
contract. Therefore, we are requesting
approval only of Phase 1 of the contract
which is 20% of the engagement amount.
Phase 1 will create the initial findings report
and prepare the base data for the larger study
project.
The fee for Phase 1 will be a not-to-exceed
amount of$84,500. Staff will bring an
amendment for the remainder of the scope of
work once the details of the contract are
finalized.
11
